Just call me nanna...

Apparently this is what happens when you actually follow directions! I am becoming a granny square queen! Yay! So, I admit, that some of them are a little untidy but I dont think my daughter's baby dolls will care too much.
Do you want to try your hand at granny squares? Head over to Pip for wonderful directions.

Oh dear....

Is this not the saddest wee attempt at a granny square that you ever did see? I am really not sure what went wrong. I have been following Pip's wonderful directions and video - and trust me when I say that the dodgy workmanship is all my responsibility. Anyone got any tips for me? Where on earth did I go wrong?

And so it begins...

I have a wee man turning 4 next month. He is sooooo excited he can barely wait. Lately if anyone annoys him he strikes them off his party list he's creating in his own head. I caught him going through his kinder photo giving them yes's, no's and maybe's! He struck one little boy off because apparently he throws sand!!!

I am sure he's not the only little man currently obsessed with Toy Story so this has become his party theme - a Buzz Party: come dressed as your favourite character! We did his party invites last night and have found these - hello, free toy story fonts!!! Small things like this make me far toooooo excited!

Addicted...

Anyone else loving Aussie tv at the moment. Spirited on Foxtel, and Offspring and Rush on Channel 10?! I cant get enough of them. I have a wee girl crush on Claudia Karvan. Don't you? Ooh, and I think I'm needing Asher Keddie's hair too. And I think Callan Mulvey can park his slippers under my bed anyday... if only my husband would shift out of his way!

You can head over here to watch full episodes of Offspring - especially that lovely kiss and they way he tells her she's remarkable! Lovely.

I think it might be the uniform?!

Feeling crafty

image

I've just come back from a quick trip to Lincraft, which I found scary and confronting since I am the least crafty person in town. Everything appears to be in a foreign language, one that I certainly didn't learn (or perhaps just wasn't listening to!!) during Home Ec in high school. I am determined however! I will craft! I am going to attempt some crochet to make a granny square! I will be following Pip's step-by-step video advice over at Meet me at Mikes. Do you think it might be possible to create a masterpiece such as the one above? I truly hope so!
Are you crafty? Any suggestions about anything else I should try?

At my house....

Aaah, the joy of school holidays. Do you love them, or hate them? I tend to swing both ways, depending on the day we've had! We need to plan and prepare for them well in advance or anarchy reigns! I must ensure that each day the boys get a run - just like dogs, and that we have some serious 'tv off' time. We've planned a trip to Kew Traffic School, some playdates with friends, and we are praying for sunshine so we can get out to some of our favourite playgrounds. Today we stayed in our pjs till quite late, ran some errands at the shops - hence the Shrek kite making (a holiday activity at our shopping centre), played with lego and baked biscuits.

Do you have any grand school holiday plans you'd like to share? You can join in At my house with Lou too if you feel up for it.

This is what I'm reading....

I strongly suggest you go and have a looksy too! Such lovely things to give you the wants. I'm enjoying the beautiful children's rooms, especially the one with the bunks on each side of the room! I wish I could relive my childhood and sleep there!

I'm planning to make the the box pull toys with the small people during the holidays too! They are created by a very clever daddy who does wonderful crafty things with his small people. You can see more of his work over here. Enjoy.... I am!
