This week I'm grateful for...

It's been too long since I have joined in with Maxabella and her wonderful grateful posts.  The thing is I started a part-time job which is mostly work on Thursday and Friday nights and Saturdays too just for fun!  So unless I am super organised with pre-blogging and then scheduling posts I kinda miss the boat. And I do miss it.  So much so I have added to my Christmas wishlist - I would love one of these Gratitude books from Kikki K and praps one of those instant polaroid cameras too for quick happy snaps of the things I'm grateful for which can then be pasted into the book!  Fabulous idea, yes?

Iphone snaps this week include these two beauties!  Isaac had school uniform dress up day at kinder and he was so excited.  Seeing all those little people in their too big uniforms was really funny.  Isaac has had such a wonderful two years at kinder but is totally ready for big school with his brother.  Today we found out he who his teacher is (she's fabulous!), where his classroom is and when he starts.  The countdown has begun!

And, oh my, how the tears began when I popped my poppet into her too big kinder t-shirt for kinder orientation this afternoon.  My tears, not hers!  I am generally not a cryer when sending the smalls off to school but this third and last one is breaking my heart a little.  I texted my husband this picture asking him where my baby had gone and praps suggesting another one might be in order...!  I'm thinking he thinks he's pretty safe since we recently paid a small fortune to my gynaecologist to ensure there'd be no more (a whole other story about why it costs everyone else $35 to get that lovely Mirena IUD  and yet ended up costing us almost a $1000!!!)!

This week I'm grateful for these small people and these big school milestones.  I feel really lucky that they are gorgeous kids, who go to gorgeous schools and have gorgeous teachers that look after them when I'm not!

This week I'm grateful for...

Oh the joy of returning to work!  I get to wear grown up lady shoes!  Necklaces!  Pretty clothes!  I get to talk to other grown ups!  Use my brain!   Earn some of my own money!

And most importantly, I get to go to the loo on my own and you just gotta be grateful for that!!!

(btw - those wedges are from Keds and they have to be the most comfortable things ever!!!)

This week I'm grateful for...

Oooh, how I'm struggling today.
We are in the midst of a sea of gastro - me and two of the smalls - and since I can't post a picture of my new best friend, the toilet bowl, I thought I'd include one of Matilda's best friend, Maya.

I'm grateful that my baby girl has some friends of her own, mostly younger siblings of her older brother's friends!  Having little play dates on their own is teaching her so many things, all in preparation for three year old kinder next year.  There is less parallel play and more interaction with each other.  Both these little ladies have strong personalites and it's sooooo interesting listening to them decide who is the leader in any particular game!

Have to keep this short - the toilet bowl is calling!

This week I'm grateful for...the best party ever!

All my babies dressed in their lego party t-shirts before the event! Not great picture quality cause it's from the phone but I did take all the party pics on my normal camera so I should have some other better one's to share later!

I'm ducking in late this week to being grateful!  Just wanted to say what a fabulous Lego party we had today for Isaac.  Cannot believe how perfect everything was!

I'm super grateful that it rained all night and came out mild and sunny at party time!
I'm eternally grateful for Grandma's and Nanna's and good friends who scurried around in my kitchen so I could run the party games and such!
And I'm overwhelmingly grateful that Isaac has such gorgeous wee friends who behaved themselves beautifully!  Not one fight and no tears amongst 18 small people!

Will be back in a day or so with a comprehensive Lego Party Post!  In the meantime, head on over to Bron's and share some grateful love!

This week I'm grateful for...

Two weeks ago I was grateful that school holidays were about to start... today I am grateful they have come to an end.  I am officially done with parks, playgrounds, lego spread from one end of the house to the other, paper craft, texta on my carpet and non-stop requests for food.

I love me some routine and cant wait to get back to it all next week!

What are you feeling grateful for this week?
Go give her some love!

This week I'm grateful for....

Oh my.  Well hello and welcome to you if you haven't been here before!

The very lovely Maxabella is letting me host Grateful this week and I'm feeling a little shy!  I tried to tidy up a little bit around here but I still have nervous tummy and everything.  Gosh, I hope you like me.

I'm grateful this week...
...because Maxabella asked me to host today.  Truly, I did the dance of joy when her email came through.  Well, it was probably more of a bounce around in my seat cause I was at the boys swimming lessons and people may have started to wonder if I'd leapt up and started grooving.  I consider Maxabella to be one of the cool girls of the bloggy world!  I'm really hoping a little bit of that rubs off on me!

...for baby chicks.  We were lucky enough to watch them hatch at Isaac's kinder over the week and they are terribly cute and chirpy.  Chicks I love.  Chickens kinda freak me out.

...because school holidays have started!  Two weeks of blissfully, lazy mornings, park visits and picnics awaits us!  (If you come back in two weeks though, I'm bound to be grateful for a return to school!!!)

...that exclamation marks exist!  Odd, yes I know and I'm the first to admit to my overuse of them but I really like them!  Especially when I leave comments!  I'm hoping they convey my excitement for all the marvellous things you may have said!  Fair warning I say, as I'm sure there will be an over excessive use of them when I pop by to read all your grateful posts!

Thanks for stopping by.  Feel free to visit anytime!

Please join in by adding your Grateful post to the list below (and please, we love you, but it really does matter that your post is one about being grateful, not just a random) and pretty please add a link back to the list.  Make sure you pop over and visit other bloggers too and spread the sunshine!

This week I'm grateful for...

....finally feeling heaps better.

...having a normal week with the smalls where no-one was sick and missed kinder or school.

...lovely visitors to my blog who leave lovely comments.

...Spirited on Foxtel.  Do yourself a favour and watch it.  My girl crush has totally jumped from Asher to Claudia.

...being able to play netball for the first time in weeks.

...having really good friends.

...finally sewing in ALL of the ends on my blanket......approximately 1400 of them!

...making my own birthday cake (a lion for a Leo, which I will be sharing with my brother who manages to steal my birthday thunder every year by having his day two days before mine and which I was so proud of I attempted to turn into a new header for my blog!!!)

This week I'm grateful for...

After the week I've had I really thought I'd struggle to be grateful this week!
In actual fact I didn't have to think too much at all in the end.

Grateful for:

Kss-bombing Nanny for her birthday

Darren actually coming home a day earlier than expected (saving him from the impending divorce papers I was tempted to sign whilst sick and dying with sick and dying children too!)

Winning a competition and ending up with a book that I've had the wants for

Having easy access to doctors and drugs

Friends who step up and help out when you are sick and dying on the couch - especially those who bring chocolate and kidnap my (one non-sick) child

Having the perfect excuse to sit on the couch and work on this baby!  Just two more rows to go...

Grateful people play with Maxabella loves on Saturdays if you feel like joining in.  I think you should go and visit her anyway - she is having a special birthday today!

This week I'm grateful for...

I'm totally going to be materialistic and shallow this week.  I hope you don't mind.  If you do, you better go and read somewhere else.

Things I'm grateful for this week:
  • I am secretly in love with my newsagent - not only does he get the new Mollie Makes in via air freight, he saves two for me - one for me, one for my gorgeous friend!
  • I have a new babushka to add to my collection!  Isn't she lovely?!  She's a bedside carafe!  Her head comes off to create the glass.  I'm thinking I might just fill her with the crochet flowers I make off the front of my new Mollie.
  • Sussan had a sale this week - 50% off their already reduced stock.  I may have bought a stripey top and two lovely oversized cardigany wrappy type numbers.  And layby-ed some jeggings.
  • Tomorrow (Saturday) I am leaving the smalls with their daddy and escaping for a drive with my visiting mum.  We are planning on climbing Hanging Rock in Woodend on a quest to find Miranda, popping into the Lark shop in Daylesford and maybe even squeezing in a visit to the Crafty Squirrel in Ballarat.  Trust me when I say that not a thought will be spared for my husband standing in the wet and cold on the muddy ground at Auskick!
  • School, kinder and creche went back this week.  I am doing the dance of joy.

This week I'm grateful for... no alarms.

Oh, school holidays. How you tease me with your initial awesomeness.
A slower more relaxed pace, pyjamas all day and absolutely no screeching alarm clocks going off every nine minutes because my arm is still to sleepy to reach round the side of the clock and switch it off completely so I just bang away on top hoping to somehow hit the snooze button.

Feeling grateful?

(disclaimer:  I was actually up before 8:53 this morning.  Just not early enough to dust the bedside table obviously.)

This week I'm grateful for... a weekend with the girls.

(this picture has absolutely nothing to do with my grateful post - I just wanted to brag that I have managed to get my hands on issue 2 of Mollie makes... which in actual fact makes my weekend... so I really am grateful for that afterall!)

I'm choofing off this weekend for a night away with 5 other woman.  We are all travelling to our beach house in my van and calling it a craft weekend.

I cannot guarantee that we wont also drink alcohol; eat chocolate, chips, lollies and cheese; consume take-away; bitch and gossip; watch movies; walk along the beach; stay up all night; sleep in ...

and be eternally grateful for our lovely husbands who are on daddy duty enabling us to all escape, rest and rejuvenate!

This week I'm grateful for... nights out!

I frocked up and escaped last night with a girlfriend as my date.  The kinder trivia night was calling - generally not something I love as it ends up displaying the vast amount of things I have no knowledge of!
Give me a bottle of champagne, combined with cheap chardonnay and someone elses savoy biscuits (in a useless attempt to keep me vaguely sober) and apparently I end up standing on a chair singing along to Billy Joels Piano Man.

Cant stay, Australia's Got Talent is calling!

Feeling grateful for something?  Head over to Maxabella Loves.

  • sneaky Mills and Boon reading in the car
  • chunky crochet hooks and lovely soft wool

This week I'm grateful for.... Lego... & scones.

I'm a little late to being grateful this week.  With blogger down, in-laws visiting for a couple of nights, a toothache that's been hanging round for over a week and general life busy-ness, I have hardly had time to get near the computer!

Today, we had an inside day, foisted upon us by icky Melbourne weather and me in dire need of a trackpant day.  So this week I am grateful to whom ever invented Lego!  Oscar is old enough now to be able to follow the maps himself and was entertained for most of the day putting together a log cabin and then adding to his 'town'.  He must have been feeling particularly generous as well because he let his 4 year old brother join in for most of it!

And feeling grateful for scones, well who wouldn't.  Jam (today my mum's homemade quince jelly!!!), cream, warm scone-y goodness and a cup of tea.  Do you think I could eat these on a daily basis and not end up at 300kg?  I follow the scone recipe of 3 cups of SR flour, 1 cup of lemonade and 1 cup of cream.  Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

This week I'm grateful for... museums!

We are on school holidays at the moment and while it is a little mad around here, we have enjoyed the more relaxed morning pace.

We took a wee jaunt into the city, payed a ridiculous amount of money for parking and wandered around the museum.  To be honest, we didn't take advantage of all it has to offer.  We let the small people take the lead and basically did what they wanted for however long they wanted to do it.  The dinosaur room, the somewhat freaky stuffed variety of animals room and the children's museum were quite popular.  Most entertaining however was our visit to the Human Bodies area.  The nudey pictures for children currently enthralled with toilet humour were a winner.  The fart button of course also topped the list.

But really, I am most grateful that my children have been provided with an answer to 'where did I come from' without my help at all!

Yes, that is exactly what you think it is!  And we had to watch it twice.

This week I'm grateful because I know where my family is.

I am grateful because I know where my mum is.  I can ring her whenever I want and speak to her about whatever I want.  Even though we dont live in the same state, I can visualise her in her house, at the shops, having coffee or at my sister's place.

My friend Shelly is not in the same boat.  Two weeks ago her mum disappeared without a trace.  She was driving to her own mother's house to take her to a doctor's appointment and never arrived.  Neither her car or herself has been seen since.

Please look at these images below and if you know anything or have seen anything please let the police know.

This week I'm grateful for... winning.

I just won Morgan Will's 100th post competition!  Yay for me and this beautiful scarf that is heading my way.

Have you seen Morgan's beautiful work?  I first fell in love with her mumma and baby Bushkas she makes.  Matilda of course has one.  Pop on over to Morgan's gallery and take a look at these lovely ladies.

I do hope everyone has had a good week.  We have felt nice and normal around here this week - all routined and non-sick, no absent husbands and I went back to netball after my whole sprained ankle incident from a few weeks ago.

This week I'm grateful for...

I normally link in with Maxabella loves... grateful posts on Saturdays.  But I am struggling to feel grateful this monring as I have been dealing with 12 hours straight of vomit from my small girl.  Awful to watch, worse to clean.

This week I'm grateful for... girl's weekends.

(My babies on board the Spirit of Tasmania, Christmas 2009.  Clearly it was a bit windy!)

This weekend, Matilda and I are having a girly weekend.  My husband has taken the boys to Tassie for the weekend on the Spirit - a boys weekend for them of speedboat racing and playing with various grandparents.

Which leaves me and my girl with big plans.
  • We are off to the Red Hill Market on Saturday morning.  Have you been to this glorious event?  I plan on eating my way around it and getting inspired by everyone's craftiness.
  • We are having a Stitch and Bitch session at my place on Saturday night with some lovely ladies - I will be attempting to pass on some of my crochet s.kills (!!!)  The fridge is crammed with chocolate and champagne.  Do we need anything else???
  • Sunday we have scheduled a trip to Ikea, shopping for a big girls bed.  And maybe anything else that falls into my trolley!
What are you grateful for this week?  You can join in with the lovely Maxabella over this way.
