Twelve years

There's 12 years difference between these two images!
More crinkles around the eyes, a smattering of grey here and there, less of the come hither look in my eye!

We had the pleasure of escaping out to dinner and movie last night after conning my brother and his wife into a sleepover with the kids.  It's been two years since I last went out alone and at night with my husband which is pretty darn disgraceful really!

Since the last thing my brother said to me when he left this morning was how on earth do I cope with the noise and the 'stuff' around the house, I'm guessing it's going to another two years before they offer to babysit again!!!

Oh, I may have forced him into one of those photobooths where you can now not only print your pics but also get a wee video link to your photobooth antics.  I may have been drinking.

11 years.

Today is our wedding anniversary.
6th January 2001 - on the rocks at the Devonport Bluff in Tasmania
Some days I wish I could push him off that cliff type thing we were standing on but mostly it's been lovely.

And since we live in the house of lego at the moment, when I found this card I knew I had to bring it home and replicate it...

Darren's weekend...

Whilst I was having a nice girls weekend, this is what my husband was getting up to.

This would be his race boat... with flames coming out of the engine.

Oh, and here he is putting out said flames with his helmet!

What is it with men and speed?!  The only danger I come across in my life is stabbing myself in the eye with a crochet hook!  (Which I sometimes want to do on purpose!)

Point and Shoot

We spent part of the weekend at our holiday house in Venus Bay. Lovely in summer, a bit chilly, windy and wet in winter, but when the lawn needs mowing someone has to do it.... not me, clearly! The little people looooove it and are keen to get down to the beach as soon as we get there, rain, hail or shine! So, this is us.

Saturday, July 24th, sometime between 3 and 4 I guess - collecting shells and climbing up sandbanks. In the middle picture you can see Oscar has almost made it to the top while Isaac needed daddy to give him a little shove to start him off at the bottom!

2 things for today...

I loved Pip's 2 things the other day, particularly the notebook one - I feel my notes are never worthy and rather than ruin my beautiful notebooks I tend to use scraps of paper instead. I have all my notebooks lined up on my bookshelf.... unused!
My two things:
  1. I mostly ignored my children today.... so I could finish one of those jolly Twilight books!
  2. When my husband came home and I told him I was having a fat day, he told me not to worry, it was just my winter coat!!!!!
