52 weeks of Grateful... Flying free

School holidays always see me torn.
I love routine, the kids love routine.  Matilda's first question to me of a morning is always about what the day is and what's on the calendar.
We love to wake up in the morning and know our expectations!

School holidays mean there are no expectations.  Two weeks stretches in front of us with vague plans and committments about what we might do (depending on mummies finances!)

Dare I say that I have enjoyed week 1.  We've had pyjama days, we've been bowling, we've been to the upstairs/downstairs Chippie Donalds, birthday parties and the skate park.  More parties and football are on for the weekend.  Maybe a little drive to country next week.  An outdoor playground if this jolly rain stops.

We've been flying free... no routines at all.  Generally waking up and seeing how the land lies before decisions are made about what entertainment we participate in.

I'm feeling grateful about the relaxed atmosphere we have been living in.

(Did your parents ever let you fly on their feet?  I remember doing it with my sister and feeling sad when we got to big to do it anymore!)

7 weeks of grateful and then what....

I am not sure what happened to my good intentions of blogging 52 weeks of grateful.  I made it week 7 then.... disappeared!
I ended up working Thursday and Friday nights and mostly Saturdays and Sundays and so would be out of the loop for a few days and not organised enough to plan ahead.  I felt annoyed and cross with myself and then more annoyed and cross as I watched other grateful people fall by the weyside too.  It's such a simple thing to look around ourselves, to refocus and see the things that really make us happy, so I am climbing back on the wagon just in time for a Grateful Reunion!
Head on over to Maxabella loves and look at her most impressive grateful list!  And her impressive giveaway celebrating gratitude!
This week I am grateful for:
Motivating Personal Trainers:  I started going to one at the start of the year and am a total convert to having someone yelling at me to get results.  I still wax and wane with my own motivation but have consistently kept going regardless of how unbothered I can be at times.  She takes on small groups of 3 or 4 or 5 and has been fabulous in showing you how to use your own neighbourhood to get fit and healthy.  After dilly dallying yesterday morning with a major case of the "can't be fucked's" I rocked up to discover I was the only one who had shown up!  Instead of having her focus on a small group (where I can sometimes get away with not doing my best - hilarious in itself when you think about it!!!) it was all about pushing me and moving me as far and as hard as possible!  A warm up run around the big neighbourhood block, 5x100metre sprints with a light jog in between, a boxing routine (where I realise how totally uncoordinated I am), some light (!!!) core work on my abs and then a helpful stretch.  Buggered... well and truly.  Feeling good... you bet!

Kitchen and Laundry tiles:  Because a surprise projectile vomit on to the carpet wouldn't have been half as easy to clean up!  Nor the dog poo that was left for me to deal with after someone bought the dog in for the night and then forgot to lay out the newspaper!
(why yes, I am leaving you with a picture of dog poop... and the guilty party sitting at the door waiting for his breakfast!)

52 weeks of Grateful: Week 7

This week I'm grateful for Sunday drives.

 Beautiful car scenery.

Beechworth Bakery Pitstop.

Some by the river contemplation.

Cheeky Isaac action

Finding love hearts in leaves.

Skate park dudes.

Some inventive scarf wearing for when it started to rain.

Dessert bought home in the car - a beesting or a french vanilla slice???
(For the record, I did share and had half of each!)

52 Weeks of Grateful: Week 6

This week I'm grateful for the goodness in people.

Have you seen what's going on over here?  And here?

Incredible people supporting someone they may not know and are unlikely to ever meet.

Makes me feel all warm and aglow inside.

It happens all the time in this bloggy community and I'm grateful I get to be a part of that!

52 weeks of Grateful: Week 5

Do you know, I forgot to be grateful last week?!  Trust me when I say I was, I am sure grateful for many things!!!!
This week is supposed to be all about smiles in grateful land, and can I tell you I have seen a few!  Lots from mummy with the return of school, swimming, kinder next week and lots of routine!  Oh, how I love me some routine!

The biggest smile has to come from my middle boy, Isaac, who started Prep today.  Yesterday he told me that his head and his legs were ready for school but he wasn't so sure about his tummy.
Cute much!
I'm guessing he had a huge case of butterflies!

Prepare to photobombed with my cute boy and his gorgeous cheeky grin!

Getting a sticker straight away for being a most excellent bag unpacker!
Finding his seat and table.
What's a boy to do but head straight for the dinosaurs!

Have you seen lots of smiles in your week?

52 weeks of Grateful: Week 3

This week I am grateful my husband has come home a little earlier each night.
I am grateful he sensed my school holiday patience was wearing thin.
I am grateful that after seeing Alvin and the Chipmunks - Chipwrecked, I was able to spread the word to my closest girlfriends about how appallingly bad that movie is, saving them from the hour and half of ear splitting pain I was forced to sit through.
I am grateful that emergency medical clinics exist, apparently for my small girls benefit only, since we have needed them two weeks in row now - head injuries, slap cheek, legos in nostrils!
I am grateful that wine exists, that trackpants exist, that early bedtimes exist!

I am grateful that even though I sound a little whiny this week, I know you will forgive me cause I can't be the only one ready for school to return!

What are you feeling grateful for this week?

52 Weeks of Grateful - Week 2

Oh, I love the Nespresso!  Those bothersome and pesky children on holidays have been hampering my coffee shop style, forcing me to partake...GASP, my coffee in my own house!
I am grateful for coffee's ability to pick me up, wake me up, warm me up, keep me regular, fill me up, stop a headache, give me strength, give me patience, give me the energy to drag this around the block all the while pushing another up hills that their little legs can't manage...

What are you feeling grateful for this week?

52 weeks of grateful - week 1.

I'm late for this but I totally didn't want to miss out!

The beautiful Bron at Maxabella loves... is doing her grateful linky again this year.  Kidspot saw her fabulousness and have decided to run the link from their page this year as 52 weeks of grateful.

This week I'm grateful for my job.  Post Christmas has been a wee bit quiet since all anyone wants to spend money on now are school shoes and school stationary.  But that's totally fine by me.  I work with a bunch of lovely ladies and since most of my shifts are of the evening variety it means I totally get to miss out on feeding hour at the zoo!  And if you click on that link and watch that short and sweet movie, you'd totally be grateful for that too!!!
